Chip Herr wins pole position for SPEED World Challenge TC Round 9 at Denver
Chip Herr won his first ever World Challenge pole position giving the Ford Focus a first pole as well as Herr took a late session run at the pole position and blasted off the two best laps of the session in the US Air Force Reserve Ford Focus!
Herr took advantage of cool temperatures and improving track conditions to come back out on the track and snatch the pole position away from Randy Pobst late in the 25 minute session.
"They (his crew) told me I was 2 Tenths off the pole time," said Herr. "I asked them where does that put me in 2nd. No you are 5th they told me. Wow I said I need to get back out there!"
And back out he went as he first recorded a 1:20.683 on lap 9 and followed with a 20.738 both of which were the fastest of the session.
"Techsport has been busting their butts to get the car really fast and with my input we are getting there," Herr said after the session.
