Vintage racing in Florida: Randy was invited once again to drive with Cliff Berry in an Historic Sportscar racing vintage event at Sebring, Florida. Cliff was chasing the championship in his one-hour enduro series, with tough competition from Charles Espenlaub, a pro, and friend of Randy's. Cliff drives a Porsche 914/6 prepared by Randy's former Audi RS6 crew chief, Kevin Wheeler. We won that, setting a new lap record, and bringing Cliff the Championship. While there, Randy was asked to drive in the four-hour GT enduro, in a rompin' stompin' 720 HP Oldsmobile Aurora that had won the Rolex 24 at Daytona about ten years ago. What a car, such power; intoxicating. Car owner Steve Cohen drove well, and after falling back a bit when the power steering failed (good workout, whew), Randy passed for the lead with five minutes left to win the race overall! Great fun. The torque of that engine made it a very enjoyable and satisfying drive. Randy also started that four-hour in a Ferrari 355 Challenge car, co-driven by owner Dana Gribi, a bright and spunky fifty-something lady from Texas (Go Girl!), and her crew chief. And, in a practice session, Randy took a few laps in the Panoz LMP1 Prototype of Wayne Jackson. What a brutal machine. Quite a weekend, so many fantastic cars. 25 Hour Endurance race in California:
