Rising star, Guy Cosmo, shines in 2006 in both the American Le Mans and the Grand American Rolex Series. The young and diverse driver has scored numerous championship titles and victories in kart, Formula Ford, Formula 2000, Star Mazda, Toyota Atlantic, Grand American and American Le Mans. Last season, Guy took top honors as the 2005 American Le Mans Series Rookie of the Year. Guy shared the prestigious title with his LMP2 teammate, Jamie Bach. The two captured one win and eight podium finishes in their No. 8 B-K Motorsports/Mazda Rotary-Powered Courage.
The 2006 season proves to be promising for Guy. In February, he landed a personal sponsorship with SellyourCell.com. The company backs Cosmo's efforts in winning the 2006 American Le Mans LMP2 class Championship in the B-K Motorsports factory backed Mazda racecar. They also plan to support his other racing efforts throughout the season.
Besides racing LMP2 cars, Guy has been running selected races in the hotly contested Grand American Rolex Series. For the month of May, Guy filled in for Memo Gidley who was injured at the Long Beach Grand Prix in the No. 19 Playboy/Uniden/Palms Ford Crawford Daytona Prototype. In June, Guy teamed with Rob Finlay and Michael Valiante in Finlay Motorsports' No. 5 Make-A-Wish/Z-Line Designs Daytona Prototype for Sahlen's six hour endurance race at Watkins Glen International Raceway. Between his busy racing schedule, I had a chance to learn more about this talented, ambitious driver.
