Liz Halliday named on Eurosport commentary team for Le Mans 24 Hours Sportscar racer Liz Halliday will make her third consecutive appearance as part of Eurosport?s commentary team at the 78th edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours on 12-13 June.   The dual sportswoman, who also competes in International 3 Day Eventing, has contested the world?s most famous motor race three times, finishing fourth in class in 2006, and will again provide expert analysis for the pan-European channel.   This year?s race is set to be another epic battle between the manufacturer giants of Audi and Peugeot, with the French marque hoping to cling onto its title after ending Audi?s five-year winning streak at the race last year with its diesel-powered 908 HDi prototype.   Liz Halliday: "I?m really happy to be joining the Eurosport team again at Le Mans this year. I?ve worked with all of the other commentators at the race before and there?s a great atmosphere between us all.   "I?m expecting another fantastic race this year, with six works cars from Audi and Peugeot as well as Team Oreca?s 908 and the Aston Martins. There is quality right through the field and in all four classes and I?m also particularly looking forward to the multi-marque fight between Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Corvette, BMW, Jaguar, and Spyker in GT2!   "I would have loved to be on the start list again after a two-year absence, but just being there and sampling the race is very exciting and being involved with Eurosport is the best next thing to driving. Hopefully the experience I?ve gained racing at the Circuit de la Sarthe can give the viewers some extra insight into the race."   Eurosport?s coverage of the Le Mans 24 Hours begins on Wednesday 9 June with action from practice and qualifying and continues on Thursday 10 June. Live, uninterrupted coverage of the race begins on Saturday 12 June on both Eurosport 1 and 2. For the first time the race will also be available in High Definition on the Eurosport HD channel. She will also race Silverstone Classic in July.
