The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving and Porsche Cars / Porsche Motorsports North America contributed to a million-dollar charity event on June 11, held in conjuction with a preview screening of the latest Disney-Pixar film, Cars 2. The event, hosted by Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter and his wife Nancy at Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, Calif., raised an estimated $1.1 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The 500 guests who attended enjoyed a preview screening of Cars 2 (to be released in theaters on June 24), a studio tour, live and silent auctions, and a gala dinner.

The Bondurant School contributed a two-day high-performance driving school for four, including a special lunch meeting with the school's founder, Bob Bondurant, and chief operating officer, current sports-car driver Darren Law. Bondurant participated in the live auction held during the gala dinner and added a bonus gift of two teen driving courses. The package sold for $8,000, then was redonated and sold again for $6,500, raising a total of $14,500.

Porsche Cars North America and Porsche Motorsports North America contributed a behind-the-scenes VIP visit to the 2011 Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, including VIP passes, Vitesse pace-car rides, private paddock tours and Porsche hospitality for four guests. Matched with a tour of CNN in Atlanta, the Porsche package generated a $10,000 bid.

Together, the two sports-car packages added $24,500 to the live auction results.
