few positions by not taking tires but the top two cars decided not to take tires as well. Another car had a long stop in the box in front of us, and it took us a few extra seconds to get out of the box and we couldn't gain a position. From there, Robin did everything he could to get to the lead, but the street course is a bit too tight to make a clean pass and we settled for third."

Liddell: "The on track battles were intense and although I managed to get ahead of Andy Lally in the No. 44 Porsche on a restart, there were also a few slower cars who had stayed out and they cost us precious time to the No. 88 Camaro as it was both risky and difficult to overtake on the narrow streets. Once the race shook out it was basically the No. 88, the No. 70 and us in third and that was how it finished; I was pushing hard once I got clear track but with the rear tires going away (we didn't change at the second stop), and a flat spotted front tire which I picked up braking at the end of the back straight, we really weren't able to put significant pressure on the leaders."

The team and the car leave the motor city with their pride and their fenders intact and looking forward to what could be the biggest year yet for the No. 57 Camaro.

Edwards: "Although we didn't get the win, we are up to P2 in the championship and we made up some ground on the leaders. In addition, Chevrolet took the two out of the three top spots on the podium at GM's home race, so it was a very good day."

Liddell: "All in all a good weekend in terms of points but we couldn't help feeling like what might have been."

Johnson: "In the end, it's always great to leave a street course with a car that rolls into the trailer and since we have five events to run in just over six weeks, we feel like we're in a good spot for this long stretch of races."

The next race on the 2012 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series schedule is the EMCO Gears Classic, to be held on the Mid-Ohio Circuit, Lexington, OH
