Bolingbrook, ILL, (Sept. 18, 2012) -Cooper MacNeil is ready for the 49th Annual SCCA National Championship Runoffs with his No. 75 WeatherTech Touring 2 Ford Mustang. The Runoffs will take place at Road America in Elkhart, Wisconsin, Sept. 18-23.

Twenty-year-old MacNeil is a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder and is also the 2012 American Le Mans Series GTC Drivers Champion, winning the title last weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR).

MacNeil qualified for the Runoffs by taking two second-place finishes at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in June as well as a second place at the SCCA June Sprints at Road America. The Hindsdale, Illinois resident is ready to take the top step at the Runoffs this weekend.

"I have a lot of time in the WeatherTech Mustang this year," MacNeil said. "I did a double national at Mid-Ohio in the BMW M3, taking second in each race. I ran the June Sprints and took second again. We had a mechanical issue at Blackhawk Farms in the Mustang and I had to drive half of the race to get a finish."

"The guys at Fall-Line Motorsports did a great job to figure out the WeatherTech Mustang. The Ford is strong. The strategy for this weekend is to win! We need to have the car handling well in every corner on the long Road America track in order to be successful."

MacNeil is celebrating a big weekend at VIR having won the ALMS GTC Drivers and team Championship with co-driver Leh Keen. The win sends MacNeil into the Runoffs with a lot of momentum having finished second there in 2010.

"We are riding a nice wave of success coming off of our championship weekend at VIR last Saturday," continued MacNeil."We also won the ALMS GTC race here in August, so we have a lot of momentum coming into this big weekend."
