Brian Simo's track record in the Trans Am Series in the last five years is as strong as anyone in the series. He has picked up one Championship and four runner up finishes in those five years. This season, Simo will switch from the Tom Gloy effort to the Huffaker RaceWerX effort.
In addition to his racing, Simo and his twin brother, Mark, are very successful business men. They founded and still own No Fear Gear in addition to other ventures they have.
TheRaceSite.com: Thanks for taking the time to talk with us. I know you are quite busy.
Brian Simo: No, it's my pleasure.
TheRaceSite.com: Your now driving for Huffaker RaceWerX. Does it feel like your going back home now?
Brian Simo: You know racing is a funny business. It's a team sport and people leave that part of it out. I really like working with these guys. They been involved in my career for quite a while. You could say it's like going back home. Here's a hungry group of guys that are capable of winning and that's what's most exciting to me.
TheRaceSite.com: How much input did you get into choosing the Jaguar package?
Brian Simo: That wasn't a preference of mine. It doesn't really matter to me. It's a Ford by-product and I've been a Ford guy for years. I feel like I'm staying loyal to my Ford roots. Seeing what Paul Gentilozzi has done with the Jaguar has inspired a lot of people to run them. Jaguar has gotten behind the series and the aerodynamic package is pretty good. It's hard to fight it.
