Washington D.C., -- Cadillac Motor Division of General Motors and area Cadillac Dealers today announced name and title sponsorship of the American LeMans Series (ALMS) race to be held July 19 - 21. The race on the grounds at RFK Stadium, with live flag-to-flag coverage by NBC Sports, will be known as The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, D.C.
"We are especially pleased to be a part of bringing the most competitive series in international endurance racing to the nation's capital," said Mark R. LeNeve, Cadillac general manager. "Exciting things are happening at Cadillac these days and our participation in the ALMS with our two Cadillac Northstar prototype cars is a means to connect with luxury customers. It's a program that demonstrates endurance, durability and technology"
Many of the cars and drivers participating in the Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, D.C., including the two Cadillac Northstar cars and the two Corvette C5-Rs, will have competed in the international 24 Hours of LeMans prior to coming to the Washington event.
