TC Motorsports announces it will campaign a three-car team in the 2005 SCCA Pro Mazdaspeed Miata Cup Presented by Hankook Tires championship. With the construction of a brand new car to join the two existing team cars, TC Motorsports plans a full season attack on this professional road racing series. All of the cars will continue to appear with the now familiar red and blue TC Motorsports livery.
The SCCA Pro Mazdaspeed Miata Cup Presented by Hankook Tires is a professional road racing series designed around the very competitive Spec Miata class. Pro Miata Cup races are held as support races for some of North Americas most competitive professional road racing series; including Indy Racing League (IRL), American Le Mans Series (ALMS), Rolex Grand American Sports Car Series, and SPEED World Challenge, to name a few. Becoming a springboard for the movement up the professional racing ladder, the Pro Miata Cup is highly competitive and is fielded by some of the best road racers in the country.
Team principal and lead driver Carlo Sparacio will make his debut in professional road racing at the season opener at the U.S Sports Car Invitational, held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, on April 29-May 1. Driving the #2 TC Motorsports Pro Spec Miata, he is hoping for a strong finish at rounds #1 and #2 at Laguna Seca. Carlo had a very successful 2004 season running the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC) in both the United States and Canada. Carlo was runner up in the championship, and accumulated the most wins, poles and track records than any other team in the series. Carlo comments, "I am really excited for our team. We have come a long way quickly and are looking forward to running the Pro series this year. This year will surely be a success with the great drivers, crew, and supporters we have."
